Fantastic homemade bakery items. The best Jarlsberg and ham croissant I've ever had. Great atmosphere. We just simply had to take a couple of bakery goodies for the trip back to anchorage. Oh so good!

What a great little local treasure this place is. Amazingly fresh and tasty food. Great breads and baked good. Amazing coffee. We will be back here. The best food I have had in Talkeetna. Beautiful mushrooms growing in the gardens. Couldn?t stop admiringthem.

Nostalgic little café in the woods. I like the idea behind this place. Natural, organic, ?REAL FOOD? from scratch. It?s a GREAT objective, but food needs to taste great as well. I?m always a matcha girl, but I didn?t like the matcha here. It tasted morewatery, rather than creamy. And it had a spicy note of flavor to it, like a spiced chai, but with a lot more kick. I personallydon?t think the flavors go well together but then again I like my matcha on the sweet side, sometimes with a splash of coconut.I did enjoy the Mexican chocolate chai, it tasted, not far from as I had imagined it, and I enjoyed the kick it had since thenotes pair nicely together, but did wish it had a bit more cream. The quiche was pretty good, my kids enjoyed it, but I wasn?ta fan of the crust, which was the part I was most looking forward to since it was gluten free. It was extremely dry and evenhard to cut. I think it was made with corn meal. Personally I?d go with a flaky sour cream gf ?pie? crust. There?s many ways tomake it but I do mine with an all purpose gluten free flour, baking powder, salt, butter, sour cream, etc. It would pairflavorful with this quiche. The eggs on the other hand were to the perfect texture. It said it came with meat but the generous?slice? I got only had only a few very very small pieces. But as I know not every slice is going to be equal, so I may have justended up with a lacking slice. I still would have enjoyed more meat like in the photos. It also came with gluten free bread.They were also very generous with the bread slices, which were mostly end pieces but still good nonetheless. However, since thegf bread is a more dense, dry bread rather than a soft moist bread, I would have preferred it heated up a bit more because theywere REALLY hard, like cardboard, but after taking them home, heating them up and adding some butter they were enjoyable. Another evening meal planned by the hosts of our week long seminar the food here, while a buffet, was definitely more interesting. One item that I had never seen before was white asparagus, a local delicacy that is only harvested for a short period. It...was steamed and served with what looked like a beure blanc sauce…very good. The rest of the meat and starches were well prepared and quite good. The dessert was a trio of berry ice, fresh fruit, and crème brulee…quite nice. Had it ended there the meal would have been great. Probably planned by our hosts there was a floor show, consisting of a fairly good female singer and one of the waitresses as a comedic side kick. The older folks in the crowd enjoyed it a lot more than I did. I snuck out for a beer and a cigarette while the show was going on. I don’t think the show is a regular part of Friday night dinner so you can probably just get the food. Recommended.

On 3. juli we have allowed to celebrate our high time in the country house wortelkamp. it was a big day that surpassed all our services. our guests (46 people dj singers) were not only enthusiastic about the excellent food and the very friendly service, but also the beautiful environment has forgotten us most tonight corona. Despite the Corona camps, the family schneider and their team did everything possible to prepare us for such a special day. the collaboration was very warm at any time and simone trimmer had also for our carefree and above all wish always an open ear for us. We can all who want to marry this year or a magical situation for another occasion, the country house wortelkamparia only to heart! many, many cordial thanks that they have enabled all this for us in the short time!
