Family House - Schaumburg

The food used to be my favorite place to eat, but now it’s terrible. I haven’t returned since I tried the new owners' food once, and it was really disappointing. I can’t believe they haven’t made any improvements after a year. This used to be my go-to spot for Chinese food. The girl who took orders was amazing and always got everything right. It’s still a mess. I’m not sure why they made these changes…

We just visited again and ordered five different meals, all of which were excellent. The prices were reasonable, and the portion sizes were generous.

I really wanted to enjoy the food here since it's close to my home, but I ended up being very disappointed. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken lunch. While the portion of chicken was generous, the pieces were quite small. The chicken tasted as if it had been pre-fried and then tossed in the wok for my order. There were only a couple of pieces of celery and carrot, and no onions or peppers like I've had at other places. The egg rolls were decent, but had a few burnt spots on the outer wonton, likely from being fried with other foods. Essentially, without Sriracha sauce at home, the chicken and fried rice had no flavor. I think I'll stick to the area's five-star Chinese restaurants for the same price!

Worst Chinese food I've ever had. I can usually get past a few bad moments in a meal but the quality of chicken is pretty bad. The fries things like egg rolls taste like the oil vats Haven't been changed in a long time. The only part of my 38$ purchasewas the egg drop soup. Very disappointed.

We have never had an issue. The food is always good. Except this time food was supposed to be delivered at 5:30. It is 5:45 still no food, called and they told me they would have manager call me back. Called me 10 minutes later and said food was onway. Finally delivered at 6:15 and it looked like a cook delivered food, he had apron on and was knocking on door, we live incondo and said what buzzer to hit. If we were not paying attention we probably still would haven?t received our food. Kind ofcostly for 2 people. And food was warm not hot like when we normally receive it. So I am thinking it was sitting until someonecould deliver. I was very disappointed in them this time. Will probably be our last. They could have at least thrown in an extraegg roll.
