Cafe Wichtig - Scharbeutz

The aspect is great, the service relaxed, the food slow to arrive on a busy Friday evening, the cocktail excellent, as was my wife's starter. The mains were huge, and of high quality. I ordered the duck red curry, and it was superb. I was...a little pessimistic about it mostly due to the fact that the menu is large and touches on too many cuisines, which in my experience is a bad sign. I've had duck curries where the meat has been boiled into the sauce and the skin soggy. This was a different beast. Big pieces of duck breast with masses of crispy skin sitting on an enormous dish of excellently prepared vegetables and a good sauce. Rice was to the side. We also had papardelle and risotto. Both were very good However, both the curry and risotto were heavily oversalted, which seems to be a characteristic reflecting the German palate rather than a complaint aimed at the restaurant. Highly recommended

The prime location and the known name are the key of this cafe. The pizza was so dry, I would called it a cracker. Service and drinks were ok

Again and again when we go to Scharbeutz, we go to this icon of the village. It is amazing which good quality and huge variety of food is served in this restaurant, which is for a reason the icon of Scharbeutz and before Timmendorfer Strand....Highly recommended

Mustgo place in the center of Timmendorfer Strand. Nice place for cafe, icecream and snacks. Friendly fast service

This is a good place for a quick lunch close to the beach with direct view of the Ocean. Good food quality but not cheap. We will come back again
