The Postgate Country Inn - Scarborough

The food at this restaurant is absolutely superb and delicious. The landlord and chef are very friendly and welcoming, and they are also dog-friendly. They go out of their way to make sure everything is just right. The value for the quality of food is excellent and I would highly recommend this place for any occasion. The black pudding starter is the best I've ever had, and the beef wellington was cooked perfectly. The smoked haddock mains were incredibly tasty, especially with the addition of a perfectly poached egg by the chef. The desserts, including the cheesecake, apple crumble, and white chocolate brûlé, were all delicious. Overall, this pub and restaurant is fantastic.

If you are looking for a quintessential Yorkshire country pub. This is the place. The fella that looked after us (I forget his name, but he had long hair and he was a great character) was extremely attentive, friendly and warm. Nothing was to much trouble for him. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we couldn’t of felt more welcome. Food was nothing but excellent. We had 3 courses and it sets the bar extremely high to what pub/restaurant food should be like. It’s a little pricer than your average pub maybe but you get what you pay for and for me the prices are justified. Not only for the quality of the food but the whole experience. Would 1000% recommend this place. Oh and it’s dog friendly.

The Postgate Inn is a great country pub, full of character and charm. A warm welcome awaits you as you step inside. The choice of beer is excellent and the quality of the food is fabulous freshly prepared and wonderfully presented. The Smoked Haddock chowder was fantastic.

Booked here 13th July for our Wedding Lunch seven persons Firstly Fantastic and welcoming service from the entire team we interacted with. The food was all freshly prepared and cooked and you could certainly tell they sourced top quality local ingredients. The restaurant certainly lived upto the many positive reviews and we will be back next year for an anniversary meal

Wow what a little gem,wanted a roast beef but was given a menu that didn’t have that on although they did serve them,so opted for escalopes of beef fillet was out of this world it really was, would highly recommend
