Plough Inn - Scarborough

This restaurant was absolutely disgusting. I needed to use the restroom when we arrived, and I am so glad I did because the toilets were a complete disgrace. If the visible facilities are in such poor condition, I can only imagine what the kitchen must be like. We complained and they eventually came to clean the restrooms, but they should be checked and maintained more frequently. It's a shame because the bar staff were really nice, but I will never be returning to this place.

During my stay at Crows Nest Caravan Park, which is only 1/2 mile away from the restaurant, I had both dinner and Sunday lunch. The food was good on both occasions, and I particularly enjoyed the carvery options.

Do not go to this restaurant under any circumstances. My friend and I both got sick from eating undercooked chicken. When we complained about it, the management dismissed our concerns and claimed that they were professionals. The restaurant is in dire need of cleaning and renovations, as it looks nothing like the pictures advertised.

The food was lovely the rib stake was dutifully we all had ice cream which was lovely, service top notch we would highly recommend.

A stop off at The Plough to sample their carvery was hugely disappointing however it seems a popular place for families although It was difficult assess this as the day we visited was the day before the queens funeral which was a bank holiday. Despite Staff being rushed off their they are polite but I don’t find diners waiting 30 minutes in a queue of several families to be served at 3pm was frustrating particularly for those of us disabled. Having rubbed shoulders with a local diner who reports it is the same most weekends is daunting.. Although their carvery offers a selection of meat and veg it isn’t piping hot gravy slopped in places and funding a table is another matter… children are left to run around disturbing other diners, but there is options to eat in the quiet areas of the lounge .. On the whole this is a friendly family pub with simple decor and floor areas kept reasonable clean, but for such a busy it’s car parking is limited. Despite this the lounge holds pool tables for entertainment and the back wall has a particularly interesting wall feature..
