The fish was tasty, the batter was excellent, and the lady who served us, whom I believe was Molly, was very polite and friendly. I would definitely come back next time for a sit-down meal with a view!
I visited this restaurant for the first time today after many trips to Scarborough, and it's a true hidden gem. The fish and chips were amazing, with quick service and friendly staff. The sea views were breathtaking, and the prices were cheaper than other restaurants on the seafront. We will definitely be returning on our next visit.
From the welcome when we walked in to the very genuine ‘thank you’ we received from the team at the end this was perfect. Excellent haddock, chips and mushy peas with all the necessary Northern trimmings (bread and butter and a pot of tea) for less than a tenner. A mountain of spanking fresh salad served with my scampi. And that unexpected, incredible sea view! Staff were exceptionally lovely. Marvellous Molly’s indeed.
Despite the TripAdvisor listing claiming Molly's was closed, we found it to be open. We ordered the Cod and Chips Special, as well as the Cod and chips with curry sauce, along with some soft drinks. The chips were perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The cod was tasty and firm, although the batter was a little dark. When the fish was cut into, it released a small pool of dark liquid, which we suspect was the oil used to fry the fish. The curry sauce was just the right amount of flavor.
This was our third visit to here and it seems to have gone down hill. The batter on my fish tasted what I can only describe as burnt.
