Very clean and welcoming. eating was excellent from starters to the net to the sides. personal very friendly and attentive. would definitely recommend. excellent value for money

There was a small mistake in getting our order delivered correctly, but the staff didn't give up. When we finally received our meal, it was amazing! It was definitely worth the wait and we left the restaurant happy.

Came here after reading the previous reviews. does not look much from the outside, but a pleasant environment when it is down and into the restaurant itself. beautiful poppadome to start next to a beautiful vegetable plate. fisch jalfrezi was super as pornstars, with a huhn and keema balti....Naan brote were beautiful as gadget, cheese and peshwari (lots of kokosnuss would certainly recommend it and will return again when in scarborough again.

My wife and I decided that this year a different sort of Christmas Dinner was needed. We decided to go to Rice and Spice in Scarborough. It turned out to be a very good choice. We had the usual Poppadoms and pickle tray followed by...the Onion Bhaji and a meat platter starters. We shared a veggie main dish with side dishes, rice and nan bread. Two glasses of wine and a pint of coke. Cost Very, very reasonable and we couldn't fault it. The staff were all very pleasant. A really good experience which we would happily repeat and recommend.

After reading lovely reviews, myself and my partner decided to come here for an evening meal. Walking in, we noticed it was quite quiet for being a Saturday night. We soon found out why. The best part of the meal was the popadoms, which were...average. We ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken madras for our mains. Both curry’s were not like any we had tasted before. They were watery and extremely, sickly sweet. After a few mouthfuls we couldn’t eat any more so they were left and at that point we just wanted to leave. What made our experience uncomfortable was that the waiter was shockingly rude and uninterested. He hovered round us after he put the bill on the table. Once we put the cash down for the bill he instantly looked down his nose at the money and said “do you want money back” which we replied “yes”. Once he returned to the table with the change he stood a foot away from our table with his eyes fixated on the change on the plate. Usually we are generous with tips but did not leave a tip on this occasion as it certainly wasn’t earned and we’re feeling uncomfortable with the waiters forwardness about his interest in our money. Unfortunately, I would not recommend eating here.
