We were going to have dinner here using a coupon in the Entertainment Savings Book. Fortunately we put our coupon on the table before we ordered because they told us that they have not honoured them for two years. I could understand if they were packed, and busy but the restaurant was empty. Here they had two customers. We got up and left and would never return.
We were staying at this Delta Hotel , now a Marriott property, off the 401. Located on the last floor of the building, it only opens for dinner . It presents itself as a authentic Japanese restaurant. I have never visited Japan but I am confident that this is not the real deal. All our guests have eaten in a variety of Japanese restaurants and agreed that this meal was average at best. I had the bento box, and my husband had a mix of sushi. The fish was fresh but the preparation clumsy. The good point, however was the service which was excellent. Not a bad meal but for the price, they could do much better.
Located on the top floor of the Delta; now a Marriott property, Sagano is a great restaurant. I have had multiple trips over the years and it jut keeps getting better with each visit. Excellent food and service the staff have been there for many, many years. I always have steak and lobster and it is always great.
The views are great. The servers are really nice. The food is OK. The prices are what you'd get in a 5 star restaurant. This restaurant is on the top floor of the hotel we stayed in. I was really impressed with the decor and the views of downtown are lovely. I was a little surprised when I saw the menu. $50 for a Japanese meal is by far the most I've ever seen on a menu.I opted for the 4 course fixed menu for $40. It started with a miso soup that was only OK. The salad that followed was the best part of the meal. It had oranges, almonds, and a nice dressing. The bento box meal was disappointing. It had one beef skewer with 4 small pieces, one chicken skewer with 4 small pieces, some sushi (tuna) that was bland, some sushi (salmon) that was OK, two pieces of tempura shrimp that I quite enjoyed, and two sushi rolls. It was enough food, but I've had better food in Japanese restaurants. Ice cream and tea finished off the meal.A colleague opted for a $50 bento box that had tenderloin beef with it, and it looked a lot better than mine. I'd spend the extra $10 if I went back. Another colleague had Teriyaki Salmon, and it looked pretty good too.
