Ukiyo - Savannah

The timing of the food was strange; we ordered three appetizers to be served together, but one arrived alone even though we had ordered two of the same, followed by another appetizer ten minutes later. The second portion of the first appetizer didn’t arrive until after our main courses started to come out. The entrees also arrived at random intervals. While our server was knowledgeable, it was difficult to get her attention, and we felt neglected throughout much of the meal. Some dishes were enjoyable, like the ramen, fried rice, and Unagi Don. The bao buns and sushi were tasty as well. However, the chicken karaage and pork katsu were simply fried meat served on a plate with raw cabbage—very unimaginative, bland, and underwhelming. Overall, the restaurant has great potential, and it could be a valuable addition to Savannah, but it really needs to improve its execution to remain successful. Given the prices, I wouldn't consider a return visit unless they significantly raised their standards.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is fresh, unique, and exceptional, and the service was outstanding. A special thank you to Maxine for making our experience truly memorable.

We went out for a date night and absolutely loved it! This restaurant is perfect for any occasion. In the center, there’s a large high-top table where a big group of ladies was having a great time. We opted for a cozy table for two, but there's also a bar available. We’ll definitely be returning! The drinks, including the Tokyo Cosmo, rosé, and sake, were all delicious. I was a bit surprised to find no Pinot Noir on the wine list; there were three reds, but they were all on the heavier side, which I wouldn’t pair with sushi. However, the chicken ramen was among the best we've ever tasted! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I even called earlier in the day to change our reservation, and they got back to me before opening with no issues! Overall, I would give it a solid 10!

Amazing vibe, food and drinks. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Savannah.
