Food and service were excellent. My only disappointment is that we were so full we couldn’t go to Leopold’s for ice cream.

We walked away from our meal thinking the chef is trying too hard. The food is unique, and some bites were good. However proportion ratios were way off. Their Short Rib Hot Plate comes with corn bread, creamy collards and a few other things that didn 't stand out. Most of the plate 's ingredients were stacked. Cornbread is first, creamed collards poured on top, then the short rib. For one, the short rib had no flavor and very little creamed collards were served. The cornbread is no ordinary cornbread it 's deep fried and tastes like dessert. Very overpowering. When I was able to get the proper portions of each item on my fork, the bite was very good. But there simply was too much cornbread compared to the other sides.My buddy had the white gumbo. He added ONE scallop for $10. Our server described the one scallop as HUGE . Then they forgot the scallop! The kitchen quickly prepared the scallop and it showed. The scallop was only seared on one side and too raw on the other side. We were very disappointed in our meal.

Wonderful meal and excellent service! Our group had a great time celebrating a friend’s birthday. Suzette was an excellent server and it was a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend Common for anyone!

Excellent food. Great service. Will come back next time in Savannah.
