Grill Courtepaille - Sausheim

Clean restaurant and welcoming staff. Our French is poor and the waitress didn't speak English so we muddled through ordering getting everything we had expected except I couldn't understand why we couldn't have the special menu despite it seemingly being available on a Thursday evening, no real matter as it's our fault we don't speak French well enough!We stayed at the nearby Novotel and walked to the restaurant (less than 10 minutes). Food was average for the price.

We went to this restaurant today and we chose it due to the reviews here in TripAdvisor. 4 children and 2 adults. And we where so disappointed. We have never got so untastefull food before. The steak I had I ordered medium and it came in raw. I told the waiter, and they simply just put it on the barbecue again and came back with the same dish again. And still it was raw. We chosed to pay the bill and when to McDonald next door to have a desert and I personally had a burger, as the food in this reataurant was not eatable. Never go there again. No matter if we got paid for it!!!

The main problem for me was, the waiter does not speak english or german language. Only french, but otherwise the menu has pictures

When the restaurant in our hotel could not accommodate us, we were recommended to try the Courtepaille Steakhouse which was only a short walk away. This is pretty much a typical decent chain restaurant similar to those found now worldwide. The service was friendly and efficient and we got by with a mixture of English and French on both sides. The food and drink were good but my partner's main dish could have done with being a bit warmer. Five sides were available and there seemed to be no limit on how many you could order. We even got a second dish of fries without charge when we had finished the first lot. Slightly put off by a trail of ants which were invading a nearby trolley, although it wasn't in use it did have some food remains which were attracting them. Little more to add really. The experience was just what you might expect pretty good food at a reasonable price. If we can't get a restaurant table in the future when overnighting here we won' t hesitate to return here.

A good eatery no frills no bells and whistles nice food good service all very friendly fairly close to the Ibis and next door to McDonalds
