Route 1 Grill House - Saugus

The meal turned out to be quite expensive; our bill for two came to $189, including tip. Really? We only had two drinks and one beer! The stuffed shrimp entrée tasted a bit off, and my order for steak tips was messed up. Instead, they brought me a $33 steak that I hadn't ordered. While our waitress was friendly, she seemed overwhelmed and entered the wrong order. I decided to go with it, but I asked them to charge me for the steak tips ($24.95) instead, since it wasn’t my mistake. They offered a $5 discount on the meal, which was acceptable. I'm unsure if I'd return; while I might consider it, the prices are steep, and many places along Route 1 tend to overcharge, leaving you with little to no leftovers. The portion sizes feel too small for the price you pay.

We visited for the first time on a whim and ended up sitting at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and took excellent care of us. The drinks and food were delivered quickly, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced! We will definitely be returning. Food: 5/5
