The Cave - Saskatoon

The Cave uses a fossil concept that was likely hip and trendy in the 80s-90s.

Went there tonight with our young kids and will never return The decor is fun and different but the food was horrible We all left nauseous.

I'm sure this place was all the rage when it first opened, but needs serious renos and a makeover I have no idea how to describe the food.

From the huge 'stone' CAVE sign outside, to the babbling brook and wooden walkway to begin your culinary spelunking adventure, this establishment has been enticing diners for decades to enjoy the unique décor. Once seated in your personal cavern, you'll find that the menu and cuisine will always please you.Our server, Christin, was very welcoming, and although very busy for a Monday evening, we never had to wait long to have her attention. As an appetizer, we ordered the calamari to share, along with a bottle of Valpolicella, bringing our final bill to the $$$ range (for Saskatoon).My shrimp meal was excellent, just enough spice and tang. My friend's 7oz New York steak dinner was so plentiful with the trimmings that he could not finish everything, as was the case with the third order, a choice of lasagna and meat sauce. Food serving size is plentiful. Sadly, this does not leave much room for dessert but, then, we'll just have to return soon for another visit.

We went here with a very large group of people including some young children. The servers were excellent and very attentive, and making sure they attended to all our needs. There was not one complained of the food or service, and we have nothing bad to say. We will return.
