I JS requested outdoor seating and they honored it by seating on at one of three tables on their porch. The food was incredible. We had escargot which was bathed in butter garlic and cheese, duck (extra crispy) and rack of lamb. We did not order dessert because we were full, but the waiter brought out a plate with a slice of flourless chocolate cake, and Happy Anniversary written In chocolate syrup. It was complimentary and it was the most delicious cake. Thank you for a memorable evening. We will be sure to return
I had set my expectations way too high with this restaurant..it seems. I picked Café L'Europe to celebrate our anniversary. I had been there only once before, probably or years ago and I remember having a memorable dinner. I had read recent reviews and I was confident that this was an excellent choice. However, I felt disappointed when I left this place. I had read that there was live music (Piano) and I had asked for my table to be in that room when I made the reservation. Unfortunately there was no one playing the piano on that Saturday night. We asked for the Chateaubriand for two. The beef itself was one of the best I have tried, the serving tableside is really cool, as gourmet and fancy as you can get. Unfortunately it is also very impractical. There was an AC vent right on top of us and by the time the server finished serving all the vegetables, potatoes etc, everything had already lost too much temperature. I am not sure if there is a solution for this, maybe the cart needs plate warmers or something, but all of the fanciness is gone if you are left with cold food, and this was the case. Unlike other reviews, we were not offered a complementary desert. Not that we would have a desire for dessert, the portions were perfect and we probably would just have tried it. But as a gesture, and in this kind of establishment is common and appreciated by guests. Wine selection was very good. All in all, I think I just probably had bad luck. Maybe I will give it a try in the future again...but at tip, I have to think about it twice
In a word underwhelmed. We have been to Cafe L'Europe many times over the past years. The table was nice at with a window view. The servers seemed rushed and not very attentive even though the restaurant did not seem to be full. The patrons next to us were very loud, which I know that the restaurant has no control over. That just added to our disappointing experience. The food was just ok, nothing was outstanding. We had escargot to start, I had veal piccata and my husband had the duck. The duck was the better choice. The wine selection, at least for what we drink (white, italian), seems very limited. The waiter only came back once to refill glasses, we had to pour ourselves. That is fine but the reason we go out to a nicer restaurant is for the service and the ambience. I know in light of COVID and such, things are different but the restaurant is missing the atmosphere of comfortable pampering that it used to have
Wife has been dying to get to St Armands since moving here and Cafe L’Europe certainly didn’t disappoint. What a great ambiance, service with Michael was outstanding and OMG the French Onion soup was amazing. Definitely going back. Keep up the great experience
Celebrated my daughters birthday with our family. Perfect dinner. We especially loved the chateau briand, short ribs and the bananas foster. We can never dine there without the bananas foster
