Out of all of the halls in the area I 've been to (8 between GR and Big Rapids) this one is the worst. It 's clean, not overly loud, and plenty of space. That 's about where the positives end, however. I sat for nearly 10 minutes before I was acknowledged by the bartender, who wordlessly handed me a menu before disappearing to commiserate with whatever locals. Food took longer than I would have thought given the less than busy look of the place and was delivered with an unceremonious here you go . Burger was overdone and dry, fries were stringy GFS fare, that had obviously been sitting. Had to flag the person multiple times for my tab, which was delivered without so much as a Thanks or a how was it . Ordered a burger, side (which was separate), and a drink and it came to about $15 before tip. I could have gone to the Social House across the street for only a few bucks more, and the bartender at the legion probably would have preferred it, since my wanting to have lunch was obviously infringing on her social time. Parking: There is limited street parking that everyone takes up for hours on end, making it impossible to frequent any of the businesses in town. There 's a large lot out back but no one uses it, since that would mean they have to toddle a few extra steps.
We didn't really eat anything, but everything else was great.
Called ahead as was having a lunch for several people. They had tables set up and settings for us when arrived. Service was excellent, I had the hamburger and Onion rings. Burger was awesome and plenty of meat, onions rings were very good. Parking: Plenty of parking in in rear of building.
First visit yesterday, great time.SO ...........................looking forward to the Wednesday Bike Rides this Spring!!??
