Restaurante Canoa - São Sebastião

If you look at the restaurant in the outside it;'s nothing espetacular. But the food is simply amazing. Fresh fish, shrimps, squid and octopus! And the portions are enormous and so cheap for all the amount of food that comes. The food is really tasty and one portion that is for two people can easily feed 4 people!! The fried shrimp is delicious! It's worth going there! Go there when you are hungry!

Excellent food, beautiful view. We ate an incredible badejo ao molho de camarao (badejo with shrimp sauce). We recommend!!!

This restaurant is in the middle of Sào Sebastiào, and is not particularly prepossessing from the outside. The tables and chairs are simple but the food is absolutely delicious, and the portions gigantic. Beware of ordering a beginner and a main course for every person since the beginners are enough to feed a family of four! We only tried the fish and seafood dishes and so cannot comment on the meat offerings. One does not drink wine in Brazil, but the beer was cold!

We arrived at the Canoa very late in the evening not expecting to find a place to eat … therefore finding the Canoa open was already a surprise. The second was the food: the caldeirada do frutos do mar com pirao e arroz was definitely yummy: the fish was absolutely fresh and the flavors were incredible. The final touch was the location: just in front of the sea. I strongly recommend it (we simply regretted having had a heavy lunch … which did not help us finishing all the caldeirada :-() ...
