Don Pepe - Santo Domingo

Excellent food and service, attentive staff and the atmosphere is very semi-elegant, so it supplements the food. I am very disappointed that this facility has not taken any formal website and no menus from a mobile phone. it does not cost much to invest in considering the status of the institution.

When I went through the busy streets of Santo Domingo, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I was on my way to Don Pepe, a restaurant recommended by several locals as a place for authentic Dominican cuisine. When I came to the restaurant, I was met by the cozy, intimate atmosphere. The walls were decorated with colorful paintings and photographs, and the air was filled with the smells of spices and roasted meat. I have penetrated the menu that offers a wide range of traditional Dominican dishes, from Sancocho to Mofongo. But I knew I had to try the dish for which Don Pepe was famous: chicharrón de pollo. When the Chicharrón de pollo arrived at my table, I could see why it was such a beloved dish. The chicken was crispy and tasteful, with only the right amount of spices. It was served with one side of Yuca, which was boiled and then roasted to a golden brown. But the real star of the show was the sauce. Made with a mixture of garlic, cilantro and lime juice, the sauce added a tasty, brownish taste that perfectly complemented the richness of the chicharrón. When I ate, I could not help but admire the skill of the chefs in Don Pepe. Each dish was cooked to perfection, with a depth of taste that only comes from years of experience. But what Don Pepe really disassembled was the warmth of the staff. They welcomed me with open arms to share their love of Dominican cuisine with me. They were happy to answer all the questions I had about food or culture, so I felt like a part of their family. When I left Don Pepe, I couldn't help but thank you for the opportunity to experience so delicious food in such a warm and welcoming environment. Donner Pepe is really a jewel in the heart of Santo Domingo, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Dominican cuisine.

I felt like I was starring in the movie Godfather due to design of the restaurant and the atmosphere. It was fantastic and food was delicious!

Wow incredible the food and wine was amazing. We will definitely be back. We had a Frexient cava and a Tempranillo so delicious. Sweet and smooth. The crab claws were so good. And the appetizers were delicious
