However, they were all courteous and helpful. We'll definitely come back.
Today we celebrated the baptism of my beloved nephew. I wanted to thank David and all his staff for the nice party. we ate very well with impeccable service in a beautiful atmosphere.
This popular restaurant has a set menu costing just €20, including all drinks (wine, water, coke, coffee even liqueurs if you’re lucky! . You think there must be some drawback, but no, the cooking is excellent, the food high quality and varied, and the portions enormous. In fact, be warned: don’t eat the bread because you need all that space in your stomach for the six or seven dishes to come! With a lovely setting, friendly and efficient staff, there really is no down side to Casa Londei, except that it is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday for lunch. If you’re in the area, it is not to be missed.
We went for Sunday lunch here, four adults and two children. We spent €20 per adult and €10 per child, which was ridiculously good value for the quantity and quality of the food which we ate. They use a set seasonal menu which allows them to keep prices down, but there was plenty for everyone. First a vegetable soup which was delicious, then a mixed antipasti which was very refined. Two different pasta dishes (passatelli with artichoke and gnocchi with meat ragu sauce) then a grill with various meats including steak tagliata , sausages, chicken skewers, roast potatoes and side vegetables. Desert was a semi freddo, coffee and liquors. White and red wine was included throughout. The quality of the food was good, although perhaps a little salty in the main courses. The service was very pleasant and efficient although we had the benefit of having arrived early and getting a table in one of the side rooms. By the time we left the main room was very crowded. Given the quantity of food and the general style of the restaurant this is not a place to go to eat in a rush. It 's more of a place to eat lunch over two or more hours, and plan not to have dinner...
