La Basilica 640 - Santiago de Surco

We went for some drinks to celebrate a special event and I asked for a passion fruit Pisco Sour, it was a total disappointment. It was not mad, but bitter, they changed it and brought one and was the same bitter. Again a chilcano changed and then I noticed that the Pisco was used cheaply and that together with probably lazy passion fruit were the reason for bitterness. The other drinks were okay, but only that. They had a show on the second floor, it seemed a good comedy show when people laugh. I had heard so many people there, but I was sure my bad experience and not going again. If you want to give it a try, do not ask for passion fruit Pisco Sour!

The whole place smelled like a gym after a large group of people finished their training. The cocktails also had a strange taste. It's a pity because the room and the ambience are cool, but we really didn't cost it.

Great place to have drinks after office. The service was very helpful and willing to find us a table very fast.

I liked it and will probably return. We went with some friends in order to enjoy some drinks and a little dinner. It is a nicely decorated place and our waiter was really good. We asked and asked and he kept delivering. Nice! We had aperitiefs and also some good food and enjoyed a great atmosphere! The only problem might be the pisco used for the cocktails, it was not the best I must say. It would have been better to go to the bar and choose the pisco which to make the drinks with. It would also make the drinking experience more attractive.

Went for lunch, the decor is different with the last supper painting depicting world bad guys etc. First we order the Diablo something or other as an appetizer. The filling was quite good but the pastry was a bit heavy and greasy tasting. Note to chef don 't send out 7 pieces for a table of 2 : I ordered pork medallions that came with mixed veg and pure of yucca. The veg was good, very al dente as I like but sadly a bit on the cold side. The medallions of pork came as 2 rolls, one very small and the meat had been cooked until it was dry and almost hard. The wine sauce however was very good.l Bar service was also very slow, we only order lemonade and both the first and refill drinks seemed to take a long time when they were not very busy. They could be much better with a bit of effort.
