I heard they made sandwiches out of pizza crust and the curious natured person I am, I just had to try it. I ordered the Club Wedgie which came with baked ham, deli turkey, real bacon, melted Fox's cheese blend, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and I axed the mayo. It was a half wedgie lunch special for only $5 and came with a bag of chips and a can of soda. One thing that surprised me and I liked, was that the whole wedgie as baked to a piping hot perfection. The club came with a generous amount of warm and savory ham and turkey. The bacon was much more limited, but effective and in flavor and its crispy texture. I liked their cheese blend or sauce with its zesty flavor and creaminess. The lettuce and tomatoes were good and the pizza crust used for the bread in this sandwich or wedgie, was fantastic. The bread crust, so to speak, had a great initial crunch and then soft and moist center with a bit of a chew. It was more crispy than soft, I may point out. Anyways, in the end, I thought it was the best thing about this wedgie and a great concept. The BBQ chips were good and so was that iced cold Dr. Pepper. Nice friendly service.
I always enjoy writing a positive review much more so than focusing on the negative. But unfortunately, in my opinion, this place is TERRIBLE!!! My wife and I went in to have some hot sandwiches. I had a Turkey, Bacon and Cheddar sub. There was way too much bacon and way too little Turkey. It was more like a bacon cheddar sandwich. I even felt sick after eating it! While this was bad enough, my wife had a Chicken Parmesan sub and when it was brought out to our table (we were eating in the restaurant , the chicken was COLD. They had to recook it. I would hope that they would make a better effort to make sure to properly cook their food. So we both were not too happy with the food. As for the restaurant facility, oh my, I don't know where to begin. The place was FILTHY. There was junk hanging down off of the lights and hanging down the AC vents as well. There were bugs flying around, and more bugs all over the walls and ceiling. The baseboards on the walls were ripped off and gone, and the tiled walls were filthy. The place was in a state of disarray. If this is the condition of neglect that the restaurant is in and the culture of the business that this management maintains, I would hate to guess what goes on in the food service area??? Eat here at your own risk! (Attention Management: Please clean this place up!!! See the enclosed pictures:
My husband ordered from them for pick up. He called around 5:15, they told him that the pizza would be ready in 25 minutes. He got to their store around 5:45...and had to wait until almost 6:30 to get the pizza. I understand things get busy, but then just always add some padding to the time you give to people. Also, the food was alright. The pizza was fine, but the chicken wings were burnt.
The pizza is always tasty good and all the employees are curtius and friendly. I'm about to try a chicken bacon ranch pizza.
I grew up in western Pennsylvania and Fox's was my #1 pizza chain of choice. Something about their spices and sauce is a unique blend and taste that I haven't found anywhere else. It had been about 16 years since I had Fox's Pizza. Moving all over the country several times, Fox's eluded me for over a decade. Until now. They don't seem to have changed much in their recipe over the years. Everything tasted just like I remembered Perfect! Great pizza, and the Santee location had it ready in about 20 25 minutes. Thanks guys!
