Garman's And Irish Pub - Santa Paula

My 4 year old son and I were on a day trip to Santa Paula to visit some of their museums and needed a place for lunch. Garman's Restaurant and Irish Pub was recommended. I'm very happy we went. The prices were a bit much for lunch, but not too bad. My Reuben sandwich was very good. My son's kid's meal was okay. They served it to us CRAZY hot without warning. I know... food is supposed to be hot. But my toddler legitimately burned himself on this chicken fingers. The best thing about this place is the ambience. While it's only been around for about 9 years, the building has been around forever, and they used all original pieces to decorate. It is truly a wonderful site to see. If I lived closer to Santa Paula, I'm sure this would be come one of my favorite hang outs!

The food is great here! I love the Irish food you can find many places. the shepherd pie is delicious. And if you want something more american they make great burgers and other sandwiches too. Some nights they have a live band in the back and it can get really crowded. This place is worth checking out!

Just a heads-up: when this place gets busy, the staff tend to move slower than usual. My group and I came in with a bunch of other people from a steam train tour event that stopped in Santa Paula for 4 hours, so the place was packed. It took long for us to be seated, and a while for the food to arrive, but we had an amazing server who made up for it with his fun and friendly personality! The corned beef and cabbage (both in taco and original forms) tasted good, but I heard that the inside of their buffalo wings tasted a bit cold (like it was just taken out of the freezer and flash fried).

The food was incredible! I had the clam chowder and a burger, both of which were delicious. The restaurant features two pool tables, two steel tip dart boards, and they even host cornhole games in the evenings. The place was bustling with activity. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was very friendly. The building itself is rich in history, making it a fantastic spot for a date night. The food is great! My boyfriend ordered the salmon with steamed vegetables, and he enjoyed his dinner just as much.

This is by far the best Irish Pub in the county. I come on Tuesdays for the trivia. Great group of folks. Amazing food. I love the burgers. Best of all is The Gauntlet which is a selection of pints in which are mixed two different beers like Black and Tan (Guinness and Bass) or Black and Blonde (Guinness and something else).
