This is a great place in downtown Santa Monica to get a cheap sushi menu with all the different menu items you would expect. I especially like the speciality they have on board and had a very pleasant experience with a fat tuna sushi and fat tuna hand rolls. This is a very relaxed atmosphere, with sports games playing on the TVs, but said to courage. The staff is friendly and attentive. The turnaround time was surprisingly fast every time I go there. I am grateful that this place mainly exists at the end of a working day, such a luxury to have a nice meal with some white rice and hot tea. In any case, it is worth checking.
We delivered the other food, bowl and udon was pretty bad. I was surprised how fat it was, tons of oil, it is unusual for the Japanese food. We liked only soy beans and seaweed salad. Very disappointing
The Sashimi was fresh and tasty! The service was great! Would be a 5-Star except for the price. Easily 30% more than I expected.
Family-owned, charming Japanese restaurant with lunch specials in Santa Monica. Came here for lunch with a friend on Friday at 11:30am and we?re the first people there. The waitress was super friendly and checked in frequently to make sure we were taken care of. There are lunch specials where you can get miso soup, an appetizer, and an entree for about $16-17. I got the deep fried dumplings gyoza) 4 pieces) and the Hulk burrito which had salmon, crab, spicy tuna, and a nice katsu type sauce on the side. My friend got the avocado roll which added another $1) and the sesame chicken. The gyoza was on the smaller side and very well done and the sesame chicken came in 6 pieces and came with a soy sauce based sauce. We also split an order of edamame $5) which is your standard edamame. The hulk burrito was a smaller size than I was expecting but it was still filling. I really liked the sauce it came with. They do take credit cards but there?s a minimum amount I believe it?s around $15) and maximum 3 credit cards per table. It?s all indoor seating and primarily street parking. They also do delivery. Overall a cozy spot with friendly service and further from the hustle and bustle of third street promenade.
