While the broth of the ramen was a tad bit saltier this time around, the creamy taste was still present to balance out the flavor. The slices of pork were so tender that the fat literally melted upon reaching our mouth. For a regular-sized order, you get a huge bowl good for sharing which you can ask them to conveniently split up for you into separate bowls. If you're craving for decent but affordable ramen, consider visiting Kenta.
Oishii!! ???????? This Japanese hole in the wall -ish store will surely be one of my fave Japanese resto along banawe. Price is just right for the amount of serving that they give. I ordered Tantanmen, their spicy creamy ramen!! It lacks a bit of spicyness for me though... But over all, i'll surely come back to this place. Arigato! ????
First off, since the place was new, the decor was new, bright and gleaming. It had a minimalist vibe to it that seemed to maximize the little strip of space that they had. Now that we got that out of the way, upon perusal of the laminated menu.... EVERYTHING WAS EXPENSIVE! There were 300 peso items thats normally 180-230 on the more common japanese go-to places. I let it side thinking that maybe the food might be that good. Since we weren't that hungry, we opted for a light meal that consisted of kani salad, maki and yakisoba. First off, the wait time for food service was very quick. The first item came just short of 15 mins. Very impressive. And yet, not quite. They got the sequence of the entrees wrong. Yakisoba came first, followed by the california maki and finished splendidly by the kani salad. Imagine that. Next is food quality, off the bat, I'd say what they serve here is mediocre at best. The yakisoba noodles were thin, the buta roughly around 6 pieces (good thing we dined indoors lest a mild breeze might've blew the pork away because of how expertly thin it was sliced). The maki came in 4 pieces, who serves 4 piece maki plates anymore? The kani that came last was 2 tablespoons at most and shared the plate with some shredded cabbage and a side of kewpie. It was pretty good, only if they served it colder and with a more generous serving. Overall, a lot of points they can improve on but for a convincing first impression... hardly. I'm sticking to old faithfuls Tempura and Teriyakiboy.
This Japanese place makes good food at affordable price. The bento is sakto for those who want to just eat right. Tasty and affordable! You won't regret it. :) #izakayakenta #goodfood #tasty #justright #happy
