Giordana's has excellent Italian food, some of the best I've ever tasted! We ended up eating here THREE times on our vacation because it was so darn good. My pasta was good (and made each day the apps were delicious, and the dessert is to...die for! I even ordered a baguette sandwich to take for lunch the next day! We thought we were full from dinner until we tried some tiramisu and then ordered two more tiramisus after that.... Giordana's, if you're reading this, please let me know if you begin to start canning your pesto or shipping out your tiramisu...I'll buy it all! The staff are enthusiastic and engaging, and they happily entertained me trying to order in Italian. Not to forget, they had a beautiful, clean bathroom that is worth mentioning! The dining area seats as much as they can for a downtown corner business, so it's usually near full capacity by dinner time, I would recommend a reservation. Many people seemed to want to hang out there the whole night, which I found disrespectful to the business. Enjoy your meal, but please let more customers move through, or let them close for the night! My two friends and I were very excited for the food in Huatulco because both their folks and many people in our town are from Mexico, so we love and have good Mexican food often we were excited for the real deal We got a little bit of a cultural lesson when we learned that the Mexican food we love is more akin to the spicier, earthier foods you'd find in interior Mexico where fresh fruit and seafood weren't as abundant. So after feeling like we had our fill of fruit and seafood (hard to imagine such a thing), we went looking for spices and that's when we found Giordana's.
I never expected to find authentic Italian in Huatulco but Giordana's changed my mind! The food was excellent. My calamari fritti was perfectly prepared... very tender with a light crust, not over-fried. And their magical marinara sauce was the perfect accompaniment. I also really enjoyed...the Ceasar Salad, which had a nice hint of anchovy, and the prawns were cooked oh so perfectly. Also, they have a nice wine list with good selections from Italy and Chile. The servers, Gio and Manuel, were friendly, knowledgable about the menu, and attentive. Strongly recommended!
Always delicious food and caring service. The owner is a magnificent chef and he and his staff give great personal service.
