Cool Hand Luke's Santa Maria

Great portions, good food. Excellent Specials Su-Thu until 6:00. Drinks were good. Steak was cooked to order. The desk was a bit messy and the staff came a bit unwilling. Definitely a very Santa Marian-nice restaurant vibe. The waiter was very friendly.

We were on Saturday night. Wait for the restaurant, but open seating in the bar, so we choose the bar. Delicious food, excellent service, great overall experience!

We had a party of 12 on Thursday night 8/25/2022. Our server JJ was great. She was polite, efficient and very attentive. We all ordered drinks and a Combo Nacho as an appetizer. This nacho was big enough for all of us to enjoy and some of us even had a second portion. It was delicious and had a very generous portion of chicken and steak. All our foods were excellent, large portions and what each one of us was ordered was cooked for perfection. We brought two cakes to celebrate two birthdays, the server gave us the opportunity to cut and serve our cakes or it offers the service for the usual fee. I decided to cut and serve for which I was preferred and prepared. They supplied plates and forks. Kudos to all participants at this successful dinner party. Thanks, JJ and Cool Hand Luke's, that Juan and Monique's birthday are made special. We enjoyed our evening very much.

This place is exactly what you would expect from a steak house on the central coast. The dusty device that is hidden from the dimming lights put to the side is the place in order. The food is tasty, and while some of the staff can be a little curt; most of the waiters are more than happy to edit special requests. I don't eat as much as I use it here, but if I don't have any terrible experience.

The staff is awesome. Otherwise this would be a one star review. Went with a big party for a bday. Not one of the 5 steaks was cooked right. The ones ordered medium came out rare and ones ordered rare, or medium rare, came out medium to medium well. Ribs were shared by many and all noted they had a weird chemical after taste. They weren?t great otherwise. Prime rib was good. Fillets were okay. The rib eye cuts they use are just low quality and you can buy a better one at the grocery store with your eyes closed. There are many great locally owned steak houses around here. I highly suggest you avoid this place
