Surf City Grill - Santa Cruz

I would give this place 4 stars because their Texas doughnuts are absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately, my companion and I had too many fried items for lunch during our first visit, and it wasn't a great experience. However, we returned the next day just for the Texas doughnuts, and they were delicious!

This place had good reviews that are not true. Corn dog might as well be mystery meat. For some reason the corn dog had juice which is gross and makes no sense.

This once was a family favorite. Their linguica and Italian sausage sandwiches were absolutely amazing. But for whatever reason they were both removed from the menu. Now Surf City is like most other establishments on the Boardwalk. Mediocre at best. I'm sad to say, that after almost 25 years, they have lost a customer.

We decided to grab a quick lunch, and Surf City Grill made ordering a breeze. The corn dog was enormous and definitely fresh. Our meal came with regular fries, but we couldn't resist trying the garlic fries, which were fantastic. The wait was short, allowing us to continue enjoying our day on the boardwalk. It was a great choice!

Owner Craig Moorhead of Surf City Grill personally took our order and shared some insights about the restaurant with us. He even brought our food to the table himself! The atmosphere is perfect for families, right on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. I absolutely loved the fried artichokes!
