Jack O'neill Lounge - Santa Cruz

My family had a late lunch on Saturday. Three of us ordered fish and chips. The fish tasted very fishy, almost as if it was spoiled. It was also overcooked and the batter was burnt. We expected fresh fish being so close to the sea. Two guests had hamburgers which they said were good. The prices were high for the quality of food we received, which was disappointing. The service from the waiting staff was excellent, but the food was below average.

Michelle, the server, was the only reason I am giving this restaurant 2 stars. The dinner was a disaster. The kitchen lost our ticket, and an hour later our food finally came out. My duck breast was fatty and my medium-rare steak was cooked medium-well. My partner's scallops had no flavor. Overall, our experience was very disappointing. They did comp our meal, but we have dined here before and it was just okay. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

The dining experience at this restaurant is wonderful, with a lovely view of the beach. Unfortunately, parking is extremely limited.

I got drawn to this place cause I’m a big fan of O’Neill and like always it didn’t disappoint. The food is exceptional ! You can sense chefs unique touch in each plating and taste. Such beautiful ambiance great service ! Nicolas knowledge of the menu was truly amazing. That pursued us to try more dishes and trusts the sea beauty that the chef wanted us to experience. Must try the homemade desserts!

This place was great. The food was delicious. Staff was friendly and efficient, even at 7AM. The view is great and the location is perfect on the main strip in Santa Cruz. We ate the pancakes and the the “cowells scrambled” both were great.
