Darya - Santa Ana

This was the quickest dinner we have ever had, and not in a good way. I have never felt so rushed at a restaurant before. We have been loyal patrons of Darya for over ten years. However, our experience last night was disappointing. After being seated, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. Unfortunately, the appetizer arrived within minutes, even before our cocktails. While we were enjoying our appetizer, the server asked us for our dinner order and it arrived only five minutes later. We felt rushed and had to eat quickly to prevent the food from getting cold. We didn't even have time to order a second drink. The service and timing of the food were very poor for a high-end restaurant like Darya. I hope the staff can be better trained in the future to prevent this kind of experience for other customers.

Tonight we had an amazing experience at this restaurant. It has been at least 15 years since I last dined here, and I fell in love with this lovely establishment all over again. The hostess greeted us warmly and our servers were fantastic, giving us great recommendations and providing attentive service. We started with borani and tadig as appetizers, followed by a delicious beef and lamb combo dinner and a Persian rollard dessert. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared. Even my friend, who usually finds lamb too gamey and tough, enjoyed the tender and tasty lamb here. The dessert, with its thin cake layers filled with cream, was a pleasant surprise even for someone who isn't a fan of cake. We also appreciated the elegant ambiance and parking availability. We will definitely be back and will likely request the same server we had tonight.
