The Clam Shack - SANIBEL

This place is really neat. Excellent food and atmosphere. Truly excellent Lobster Roll. A must if you're in the area.

Food here is spectacular! Tried the lobster roll (it was good, but I enjoyed the other menu items even more with homemade onion rings (wow! My Hubby had the combination plate with fried shrimp fried oysters and that was AMAZING! BEST FRIED SHRIMP OYSTERS in SWFL. The dough is so good, not greasy with the perfect taste and crisp. Perfectly roasted seafood. The Koleslawin was also unbelievable. They also bring several delicious sauces. Really recommend this place for lunch or dinner. It is a much more relaxed/more casual atmosphere inside. The service was also great:

Unfortunately, our otherwise good experience was made by a case of food poisoning from the Mayo-based tartaric acid sauce, which sit on the tables and warm to the touch. I did not think about it then, and thought the tartaric acid and cocktail sauce was cooled and set up for each customer, but after two days flat on my back with evacuated intestine, I remembered that it was warm to touch, and I confirmed that the only person in my party of 4 (6 pm on Monday) that used the tartar sauce. Otherwise, the Ipswich Clams were excellent as well as the regular shells and the live music was great, only the lack of proper food treatment made it so that we're back.

The entire experience is about New England in Florida. The food is amazing. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere is unique. Astonishingly great lobster roll, clam strips, fresh onion rings, cole slaw. Not cheap but worth every penny.
