Wavey’s -b-que - Sanford

I'm really glad I discovered this gem while traveling on I-4. It felt like dining in a family's home. My wife and I sat on the patio under a tree and enjoyed the BBQ. The meat didn't need any sauce, but the sauce was excellent on its own. The brisket was tender and flavorful without being greasy, and the ribs had a lovely bark on them.

Wavey is an incredibly charming owner who provided us with fantastic service. He shared how he follows his mother's recipe for collard greens, and it's clear that a lot of love goes into his dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-meat combination—sweet, rib, and brisket—along with our two sides of collard greens and beans. The rib meat fell right off the bone and melted in our mouths, boasting amazing flavor throughout. The brisket was a perfect balance of fat and meat. Both sauces were delicious and well-crafted. The collard greens were, without a doubt, the best we've ever tasted—full of authentic flavor that’s hard to find elsewhere. The beans were sweet with just a hint of spice and had bits of bacon mixed in; they were also the best we've had. We were truly impressed by this quality small business barbecue joint! We will definitely be back!

This is truly the best grill in the Orlando-Sanford area. The ribs are incredibly well-seasoned, smoky, and fall-off-the-bone tender. The baked beans could easily pass for dessert because they are so sweet. The mac and cheese is perfectly creamy and made with real cheese. As for the greens, most people struggle with seasoning them, but Wavey definitely knows what he’s doing, and then some. My only wish is that it were a full-fledged restaurant so I could enjoy my meal right after it's served. It's that good!

I have baked the chicken and my girl got the pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese and baked beans. eating was so good that we had no time to talk. the chicken was juicy, tender and falling from the bone. the taste of the meat itself was amazing, and the BBQ sauce was a perfect compliment to the meat. the baked beans were sweet and tasteful, with a hauch of apples and cumbling. definitely a kind. She tells me that the mac was absolutely delicious, and I couldn't tell you because she wouldn't give me a bite. I think this is our new place to stop and eat before we go into the zoo.

Delicious fall of the bone bbq. The meat was nice and tender. The collard greens were seasoned! The owner is also really nice with great service. So happy I found this gem.
