Walai Penyu Resort, Libaran Island, Sandakan

It was a very special experience. the island was peaceful and quiet, lay in the sound of birds and wavy, in hammocks with closed eyes, it was so peaceful. in contrast to other beautiful islands there is no white sand or blue sea, but I have a very special experience. I visited the village, observed some amazing fruit trees, sardelle and dogs catch sardels at the sea. the village is quite large and clean, with a school, a hospital, a mosque, a police station and an infrastructure. the personal was friendly and they knew a lot about turtles. we had the pleasure to see two turtles that lay at night, not everyday experience. it was also amazing to wear for eggs and to bring the baby turtles to the sea for the first time. where else can they experience this? I think it's a beautiful experience you can't buy for money. when they go to the island, it is better to avoid exposed clothing because there are so many mosquitoes and sand fly if they do not want to suffer later, it is better to wear right. the cook for meal and the two servier sisters did their best. many thanks for hard work and everything they do on the island!

That was a wonderful experience. personal super friendly and made some wonderful eating. leave them some turtles in the night, but unfortunately missed the adult turtles due to the waves. tents and beds were ideal and we had luck being the only guests

Beautiful sunset. rich in biodiversity. during the low flut they can try to walk over barefoot to another island and imagine how our ancestors are now covered with sea water to a place to another on the land. watch baby turtles swim so fast on places covered with many lively growing seaweed.

Good, nice experience of local living. Snorkeling was also good. Unfortunately being an island beverages other than water were not available, so plan ahead if visiting. Saw some turtles being released in the evening.

Lovely place to stay, good food, friendly staff. Only improvement they can make is turning off the light at night around the camp site.
