Donibane - San Sebastian

Used this bar a fair few times during our stay. On the main square in Gros this place is very relaxed, away from the old town maelstrom. Small but tasty pintxos selection and friendly, efficient service.

We stopped here on our first day in Gros, San Sebastián at the recommendation of our Airbnb host. It is owned by his parents and also employs his brother. We had a couple of the Pintxos from the bar and also ordered the chicken wings and battered prawns from the menu. We had a local wine and the local cider and the bill came to €15. We enjoyed everything we tried and the staff spoke good English which made it a very easy experience.

The cakes were delicious. A visual delight. All were fresh and jumping from the counter inviting you to eat. There were large and smell deserts so succumbing to temptation need not have too dramatic consequences. The available variety would satisfy even the most particular customer. Seating is limited so take out or eating as you stand may be required.

Visitando San Sebastián, llegamos por casualidad a este bar. Nos sentamos en la terraza ,el servicio de 10,pendiente en todo momento. Lo mejor, la cerveza KELLER,no la conocía y seguro que la busco. Almorzamos ensaladilla rusa, cocochas rebozadas y bacalao al pil pil. Debo decir que hacía tiempo que no tomaba un bacalao al pil pil tan bien hecho,fiel a la receta. Este bar está frente a una plazoleta con una iglesia pero no recuerdo el nombre. Tenían muchos pintxos a cuál con mejor pinta,pero optamos por las raciones esta vez. Volvería sin duda.

Bar con terraza en una plaza peatonal amplia ajardinada.Pintxos típicos donostiarras de hace muchos años. Excelentes el Pintxo de Ensaladilla rusa y el de Gamba con huevo cocido y con anchoa sobre pan frito. Muy bueno también el pintxo de Anchoa sobre pisto que está muy bien hecho y combinan muy bien. Bueno el Pintxo de Patata,huevo cocido, atún y aceituna.Muy amables.Atienden a las mesas. Mucho público donostiarra. En la plaza Cataluña hay Parque Infantil para que los niños jueguen mientras tú te comes uno o varios pintxos con cerveza.
