We had an amazing time with the help of our waiter, Jose. The food, the drinks, the staff, the location are all great. You can choose from indoor or outdoor seating. Highly recommend making reservations. If we go back to El Salvador, we will definitely be back.

WOW! Amazing experience at La Gastroteca. Food was absolutely delicious. Innovative and delightful menu curated with a variety of options for every taste. The Chefs recommendations (de autor) was a great choice for us; the combination of flavors are perfectly executed, bringing a twist to traditional dishes. Jose was absolutely friendly and helpful. Service is top notch and on point. We now understand why it is a regular place for locals. We will definitely be back on our next visit to San Salvador. PS… bread, butter and desserts are a must

The food, the service, and the experience was amazing!!! The server gave us a choice of English or Spanish and was very flexible with the group. The desserts were absolutely delicious and so was the seafood pasta! Would definitely come back again!

I visited La Gastroteca as a solo diner in San Salvador. I was the only customer in the restaurant, which is truly a shame given the immaculate vibe. The prices are quite high, but justified by world-class food and service. I had the duck and a Megroni, which is a Negroni made with Mezcal instead of gin. Both were very thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, and most importantly delicious. The kitchen staff took occasional glances at me eating through a window they have into the dining room, and were met with thumbs up whenever I caught them. Despite being not even close to fluent in Spanish, the non-English-speaking dining room staff took care of me with a little help from Google translate. Overall, if you wish to splurge on a meal during a visit to San Salvador, La Gastroteca is the perfect place to do it. Unlike many restaurants in the country, the accepted credit cards, which matters.
