Pho Monsoon - San Ramon

This is an easy option for a weekday lunch. We ordered banh xeo, a sandwich, a bowl of pho, bun rieu, and a combo rice plate. The banh xeo could have been crispier, but it wasn't as good as the ones in the South Bay that specialize in it. The pork sandwich was tasty and you have the option to add a side for $10 or without for $9. We usually prefer the ones from Saigon Sandwich in SF for under $6, but for being in the East Bay, my child quickly devoured it and enjoyed it. The large pho #18 was good, but we wished it was bigger. Bun rieu isn't available at nearby restaurants, so the crab meatballs were tasty and my husband enjoyed the broth. I ordered the combo plate with a choice of meat and two sides - a chicken wing, imperial roll, or fried egg. I asked if I could swap the grilled beef for lemongrass beef and they accommodated my request, which was nice. The service was quiet, and they brought out the bowl of chicken broth that they had forgotten to give with the combo rice plate.

This is, by far, the worst Vietnamese restaurant in the area. When we walked in, there was no one at the front counter and we had to wait five minutes for a response from the kitchen. We ordered a large chicken pho, but had to repeat our order seven times to the waiter, and he still brought the wrong dish. When we corrected him, he brought the wrong size. We didn't receive any bean sprouts or garnishes, and had to ask three times for water cups. The food was flavorless and almost inedible. It was a disgusting experience and we will not be returning.

I'm sure they still have something, but they removed a few vegan options after a rebuild. also my order seems to be a lot of time wrong. update: they have now again made one of the only vegan options with garnelen. I'm not gonna eat here again.

I love pho. and when I turned to the Veg diet, I was annoyed to see that many pho sites do not offer vegetarian diets. all except this, as they are a decent listing of about 5 7 different options of plate / bowl combinations that are not only vegetarian, but because many of the dishes are based on sweet, rice or rice nudel and sauces that chili with flavored are in the rule making it a vegan option too. a cavity in ordering the pho and that is to ensure that it is vegetable broth. to time, the service can be a little dirty, but then again I go back mainly there for convenientity and vegan options available.

Delicious Pho! Fresh ingredients you can taste mixed with great service... Loved the pork bahn mi... Going back to grab one to take home after work!
