Royal Thai - San Rafael

I ordered the fried Tilapia and now it's my favorite dish! It was perfectly crispy and spicy, served with soft jasmine rice on the side to go with every bite. I hadn't been here in years, but I'm glad it was able to withstand the pandemic and is still the best Thai restaurant in Marin. Delicious, 5 stars.

This restaurant serves the best Thai food in San Rafael. The menu is great with lots of delicious options. I highly recommend the Talay Susan, a yellow curry with shrimps, scallops, vegetables, and fried soft shell crab. The crab Rangoon is a must-try dish. The Thai crepe with pork and shrimp is absolutely delicious. The barbeque pot is huge and tasty. For dessert, don't miss the fried banana with ice. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. If you're looking for amazing Thai food, this is the place to go.

We dined at Royal Thai on New Year's Eve. We ordered Chicken Satay, Vietnamese Inspired Savory Crepe (a unique dish not commonly found in Thai restaurants, but one of my favorites), Tofu Fried Rice, and Thai Spicy Seafood Salad (Yum-Talay). Everything was delicious and tasted authentic. As a Thai person, I can tell you that Royal Thai's food truly captures the essence of Thai cuisine. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a nice vibe. We enjoyed our experience so much that we returned on 08/07 for lunch. This time, we tried the crab fried rice and roasted chicken with basil rice – both dishes were excellent! The staff continued to be welcoming and polite.

As someone who traveled to Thailand for over a decade every year, I can say with confidence that is the best Thai restaurant in San Rafael.

Great selection of Thai food. Enjoyed the calamari.
