We were the first table to sit down and were not sure what to expect, but we are so glad that we stayed and soon the place filled quickly. Everything was delicious and fresh, perfect meal, great prices, nice people!
One of the few places in Zipolite which serves *obviously* fresh fish because each catch is displayed at the entrance and the chef prepares your choice for cooking over a charcoal barbecue. We had something described as salmon (although different from what we recognise as salmon in the UK). It was good, if unspectacular, and came dowsed in chimmichurri sauce and served with salad, baked potato and rice. Langoustines, lobster, red snapper, marlin and tuna were also on offer, as was fillet of beef and chicken. Our meal for two, with drinks, came in at a little over 300 pesos (approx £13) so pretty great value.
Walked by in the late afternoon, saw lots of fresh fish, asked for menu. They don't have one, so asked price. They said 180 pesos for the shrimp or fish. We came back later for dinner. Ordered a slice of fish for me and shrimp for my wife, plus a glass of wine. My fish was over cooked. When we were finished, they wrote our bill in a notebook and showed it to us. It was 900 pesos! $48.00! They had charged us 300 pesos for each dish, plus 300 pesos for the wine. This is twice what most of the restaurants in town were charging. I felt very swindled. Beware of this place.
Amazing fresh seafood! That was the best food I had in Zipolite.
