We like this place is really escondida hahah the reataurant has tiply Mexican food type by gourmet and is a good option for special okations.
I was in la escondida several times. before two weeks I was there with a group of people to work. we arranged for a fixed menu, including three main course options. meat and fish dishes were all excellent. black beans. were also delicious. service was very professional. to know the best from my, the prices are very reasonable in consideration of the service, quality, taste and location of the place.
We like this place because it is very nice to eat good, excellent service and a quiet atmosphere. eating is a bit expensive, but it is worth it. they have in the regular a troubadour singing romantic lieder that adds to the ambiente of the place....We have never thrived outside, but it can be a possibility in warm days, from april to october. last time we have ordered for the escaped smoked marlin tostadas and sesos in mantequilla (traditional Mexican court); the translation of sesos can turn them off, but believe me they were superb! as a main dish we had bark tongue (made, with a homemade taste), kabrito filled chili in tomatensauce, black fish fillets and mandele thunfisch (delicious). we ordered a bottle madero red wine, a very good selection and a difficult one, as the wine card is very complete. everything was properly cooked, with considerable amounts of food, and only made tortillas and totopos to dinner. I can assure them that they have a hard time to decide what to order, there are so many different specialties to choose, but with the help of the waiter I am sure they order the best choice. they have a good choice of desserts, but we were so satisfied that none of these tempting were ordered, like regional sweets, cakes, puddings and so on. the service was very attentive, without being intrusive, the waiters seem to anticipate any need they may have. if they don't know the opposite, it's better to take a taxi because it's very easy to miss the entrance, and to celebrate or at popular weekends it's hard to find a parking place. reservations are not required, but it is advisable to have one on busy days.
You will not likely find this restaurant if you are driving Along (or even walking along) Av. Vasconcelos, as it is hidden in the back of a mixed use project. Various stores (including a Ferrari dealership) and the Habita Hotel are visible from the front,...but not this restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor dining options, quite an interesting and broad menu and interesting service. You are not likely to be trampled (yet) during the lunch hour, so this is a good place to come and relax. So if the frenzy and the crowds at Calzada or The Main Entrance are too much for you, try La Escondida. Parking is underneath the project, there is only one entrance (its worth noting that the project can only be approached from the west, there is no possibility of making a left hand turn when approaching from the east). Finding a parking space can at times be challenging, patience is usually rewarded. All in all, this was an relaxing interlude.
