Flor's Cafe Art & Deli

This is a wonderful little 3-4 tables cafe located on the north side of town near the Fabrica Aurora. You walk through an art studio/gallery to a beatific cortyard appointed wiht large shade trees. Stopped the first time for lunch and received a heavenly...grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup definitely home made , moving on to a variety of the breakfast dishes all which impressed with delicate flavors. This is a labor of love of the owner who is gracious and accommodating and always there to serve.

In a secluded inn, flor and their partner have created a beautiful small place for an breakfast or lunch and delicious coffee. they both want all their customers to be fed comfortably and well, so it is obvious to the quality of their ingredients and presentation. their courts are of utmost concern. I loved my omelette and accompanying toast. because they go through a work gallery/studio to find the caffe, this could be difficult for first customers to find and choose the caffe. Maybe word of mouth and other recommendations to help create a regular clientele. obvious signs on the road could also help. I have just heard that flor has plans to move in a commercial plaza on the libramiento zavala near the red cross and near the hospital. this will have a parking space and an outdoor seating area and will be open for more suitable times, as the other place on calzada de la aurora was governed by the hours of another tenant. this is especially favorable for the inhabitants of las brisas and malanquin and anyone who travels on the libramiento to la comer. I am sure that the same carefully prepared food and welcome service are available.

It is good that flor does not serve the kartoffel puff in coveted quantities. this little supplement to my ham and cheese sandwich was too good. we also had a tasty thunfischsalat and yes a decaf is also available. very reasonable prices.

My husband and I eat at Flors regularly and have always been delighted by the quality of the food and service at this small, professionally run restaurant. I'd recommend the goat cheese and basil omelette for breakfast. The grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup lunch combo is perfection. It's a bit out of the way, but don't give up. This quiet, comfortable restaurant, located in a treed courtyard will satisfy your hunger and refresh your spirit. Flor and her cafe are a rare treat. Perfect on your way to or from Fabrica Aurora.

Because you need to walk through a working gallery/studio to find the cafe, this might make it difficult for first-time customers to find and choose to patronize the cafe. Perhaps word of mouth and other recommendations will help create a regular clientele. More obvious signage in the street might help too.
