Yuzu Sushi Grill - San Mateo

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in the Bay Area. I always order the ishiyaki salmon rice bowl and some other items from the soup menu.

As I mentioned before, if you are not in Yuzu, you must come here. This is the best sushi I have ever had, and I have had a lot. This place is better than all the others.

I recently found this hidden gem of a Japanese sushi restaurant. This cozy spot served up some of the best sushi I've had in a while in the area. The menu had a variety of Japanese and American style rolls, as well as a great selection of fresh fish.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with a rowdy group for a birthday celebration and had a fantastic time. The service deserves 5 stars, the food 3 stars, averaging around 4 stars. The sashimi and nigiri were good, but not exceptional. The tempura, soup, and salads were all pretty standard. However, the Spicy Roll we tried was delicious, as well as the Salmon Belly. Unfortunately, some of the items we wanted were unavailable that day. Overall, there are other places I prefer, but this small establishment has friendly staff and fresh fish, so I would consider returning.
