California Pizza Kitchen At San Mateo

It was my first time at CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN and I was really hungry. With a name like California PIZZA Kitchen, I expected a bit more mass in PIZZA DOUGH... Anyone who named this company must name IMMEDIATELY RETHINK. Next time I have pizza craving my 1ST choice is GOLDEN BOY PIZZA in BURLINGAME on Rollins Rd... 2ND choice is ROUNDTABLE PIZZA with some Thick BLUE CHEESE salad... PIZZA kitchen... I want to know what THE OWNER thought about when he left with the last name. Now don't get me Wrong, the kitchen is here, and for the pizza, I was NOT IMPRESSED.

I can't believe it's so wrong from this time eating experience First. Serve my hot water with chipped cup Second not to offer fresh cheese after delivery of pizza and pasta 3. Can't you even get the black paprika out?

This Chinese guy is very rude bad customer service. There was no garlic oil bread. Didn't want to take our order properly, as we asked. Did you ask about the dessert and bring us? re finished with our dinner and said that was not possible. Overall a bad experience. Asked another server instead. The second server Daniel really helped and served our food right.

We sampled many dishes and unfortunately most did not hit the mark. The Santa Fe chicken pizza arrived cold and was stale, bland and uninspiring. The avocado egg roles were quite tasty but full of more cheese than avocado, which was surprising. Pretty unhealthy but good. The Banh Mi bowl was pretty fresh but the sauce was pretty spicy and could have had more avocado for my tastes. The salmon was one item we tried that was delicious, however it was full of bones. Very surprising from a well respected place like this. The Sichuan dumplings were actually good as well. The only item with no problems and well-liked by all. Overall the cpk failed to live up to its reputation and I cannot recommend it.

This CPK is located inside Hillsdale Mall and has a capacity to seat around 50 people. The staff is helpful and they have a very helpful guide on their menu that leads you to their website in case you have food preferences (allergies/ vegan/ gluten free, etc. . We ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, the California Veggie Pizza, and 2 drinks: Peach Lemonade Cucumber Reviver. The food was good quality tasted good, although the portions were small for the price. This is an easy place to recommend to someone looking for fresh Italian(ish fair for lunch/ dinner. Bonus: They also serve free bread as a part of the meal which is always great to see.
