Food is fine, especially if you just need something fast-ish before you get on the road. (We stayed at the Apple Farm Inn). It is diner food so nothing special and fairly expensive. The 4 of us got 2 breakfast entrees and a few muffins plus coffees and it was $70. Wouldn’t go back here even if we stay at the hotel again.
On our trip to visit my nephew, who lives in San Luis Obispo, CA, we stayed at the Apple Farm Inn. Their restaurant is also well known. We had breakfast there. Good food, comfort food type. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast, he had the apple pancake ! Both were good! One note to out of town visitors if you are hoping to have dinner here, they stopped dinner services since COVID. Have not resume that yet. They only serve breakfast/lunch from 7 am to 11 am. Check before you make plans for dinner here!
Nice setting for breakfast. Had a stack of buttermilk pancakes which were huge. Country store was nice had homemade pastries and pies.
Serving size, efficiency, taste and service were all solid but nothing to write home about due to the price point. No discounts for guests at the Inn... REALLY? Eggs Benedict was light on the Hollandaise sauce (thick and congealed). Pancakes were BIG and thick but didn't come with anything else had to order ala carte for sides. Small coffee mugs went dry multiple times and I had to refill myself from the hostess station. There was ONE gal who was on a mission to get stuff done and was really efficient. The other wait staff were dragging and uninspired.
