Monkey Business - San Juan

They used to have a vegetarian/vegan section on their menu, but it has been removed now. When we asked for vegetarian options, we were told that unfortunately, they no longer have them.

This small island restaurant offers a variety of great options. The service can be slow during busy nights, but the live music keeps things entertaining. The restaurant fills up at 8 o'clock each evening, so try to arrive early. We loved the banana fries, veggie tempura, spicy fried rice, and monkey noodles. For dessert, try the koksmilch or egg yolk (note: the chocolate syrup may not be vegan). The portion sizes for some dishes may vary depending on how busy they are.

The food was tasty, especially the banana fries which were both unique and delicious. We also enjoyed the spicy rice and monkey noodles, which were both delicious and came in large portions. However, the wait time for even simple dishes was about an hour, and we had to wait nearly 20 minutes for our drinks. Despite this, we appreciated the good live music and the nice ambiance of the bar. Overall, a good experience but the long wait times for food were a downside.

We really liked it here, we came back many times! It seemed to be where everyone went, so was always busy and good atmosphere, also has live music on some nights! We had the veg pizza with no cheese which was underwhelming, the spicy fried rice and the veg noodles which we both loved and had again and again! Also free water refill!

I ordered the spicy fried rice and was pleasantly surprised at the size of it. It was a very filling portion and rather tasty.
