I can't believe it when he came back with the same steak and said that this isn't a chef who says it's medium. we refused to accept it and after the discussion with another waiter they cooked another. the meat was properly cooked at the second time, but it was too hard to eat, so we simply left it on the plate and gave it up. they told us that the ribs came with fries (which were cold) and when we got the bill, they tried to invite us for an additional page of fries. the same waiter argued with us that the ribs actually had nothing and we had to pay for french. it was a practice to deal with him. such a disappointment we had read great critikens. the setting is beautiful and one of the waiters seemed to try so many complaining from other customers that we felt bad for him. Maybe we caught them in a bad night, but we would certainly not recommend this place, after la vaca tinta instead far superior in our opinion.
We always come for a Cuban cigar and the best mojito in the city. just realized the Argentinean steak house in the back is amazing and favorable. we loved the rock steak filled pfeffer app and caprese salat. had a perfectly cooked tuna steak and that. Argentine version of sangria called. yum! will be back to try the numerous selection of steak!
It is a scandal that one of the few places where you can listen to live cuban music has the worst service in all cabo. I've been a resident for years and know places. that is by far the worst. they prefer to train with their personal or to deal with such reviews. the service is over slow and the waiters have no idea what they do. After almost an hour ordering an salats tells me the waiter that someone has messed with my order and now the kitchen is closed. I am speechless and not good wise.
Enjoyed it a lot, what a difference from Barrio Tango near by, this is a hidden gem in San José downtown, maybe not the best, haven’t been to the other steak places in SJC , but surely one of the best! I recommend it very...much!
Victor is very helpful with all aspects of this cigar lounge and steak house. I tried one of the Cuban leaf cigars. It was very nice. They put on the Sunday night game (in Spanish) and I had a few beer ($2 usd each). My wife had the dessert and a glass of wine. We took a look at the menu as we hung out. The steak area very reasonable and done in the Argentine style. It was about $200 Peso (Flank Steak) it was delicious and served very professionally. We split one steak and had a few more glasses of wine. For two cigars, two beer, three glasses of wine (good wine for the price), dessert and a steak with grilled vegetables all for around $100. So far the best steak in San Jose. I would recommend this place and will go again. A little hard to find but if you are walking from the city square it is about right beside the church. The chef came out to see that we liked out food (we ate in the lounge). As far as a steak and cigar place this is one of the best in North America for my tastes. Anytime you stumble onto a new place it always feels special. When we go back I will try to update the review if things are different.
