Choko - San Jose

Good hotel value centrally located. many of the stellar reviews might be misleading. it is excellent for the price, but there are dinge to consider. they seem to make upgrades that are good. many that you can train personally. our room was massive, but empty of furniture, so it was a little strange. no coffee machine in the room I care about. the location is central, but note in the night the crossing is crazy loud and a little sketched. our room was quiet enough, but sometimes you could hear street noise, even 3 o'clock. the cabins are required at night. not many attractions in the hotel. everything said it is a very good place for a tourist just not expect a full 5-star experience, but it is not as price, so it is excellent worth over all.

I would like to thank the hotel staff for their helpfulness and ease during our short stay. Especially the two women who checked us were very welcome. but above all thanks to the three men who helped us the next morning when we found out that our car battery died when we were ready to leave for the airport. they were incredibly helpful, and they managed to track a battery and (separated) jumper cable to move us back. all this was within 20 minutes — they have very quickly transformed a bad situation into a happy memory of costa rica and its incredible people. Thank you!

We ordered the salad and the pack, both items were missing ingredients, but we did not get a discount or a refund when we complained. The salad was basically only salad, cucumber, tomatoes and falafel without any other ingredients listed on the menu. The person working there did not inform us about how limited it was and only at the end mentioned that she wanted to change the menu to reflect what they now offer. The food was delicious, but I suggest to double check what you get before the order.

We were left after a long walk and happy cow came to rescue to help with the drop of blood sugar. Friendly people sat up where we could watch all the activity providers on the streets. The meal came fast and was delicious. Very crispy falafel and many delicious veg in the falafel bowl, with beautiful tahini sauce. #Veganuary

I ordered the falafel packaging and not only was delicious it was huge!! Maybe enough to share a pack! The price is really decent for the crowd! Very recommended!! Updated by previous rating on 2022-09-16
