Poke House Almaden - San Jose

Ordered a medium bowl (3 protein scoops) and coke through DoorDash. Though I got a little greedy with the toppings, the combination came out quite tasty! Portion-wise, I would say it’s good since I couldn’t finish it in one seating.

Poke House on Almaden is, without a doubt, the best among all similar places. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the fish is fresher and comes in larger portions. Their house specials are absolutely outstanding! "Poke" is a Hawaiian word that means "to cut into pieces," and ahi tuna is a traditional favorite in Hawaii, which happens to be where my mother was born and raised.

The portion sizes are generous and beautiful. However, I'm not a fan of their pre-made spicy tuna and salmon. On the other hand, her crawfish salad is excellent. It is a bit pricey compared to other good poke places, though.

I absolutely love this place! The portions are generous, and the variety of condiments is fantastic. I really appreciate that they offer fresh seaweed and masago at no extra charge. The service is always friendly and speedy. I highly recommend it if you enjoy adding extras to your poke!

I ordered the small build-your-own dish with spicy miso salmon, crab salad, and several toppings, and it was delicious! They really don’t cut back on the portions. Many places tend to pile on the rice and skimp on the proteins, but not here! The flavors were fantastic—spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. I will definitely be ordering from this place again!
