My friend from Changzhou said it was delicious, and I have to agree—it truly was! This might be the only restaurant in Los Angeles that knows how to make braised pork properly. The owner's son and the waiter share the same unfortunate hairline as me; we could definitely call ourselves the "hairline brothers."
This place is a MUST TRY for authentic Shanghainese cuisine! It’s also VERY affordable, costing around $25 per person after tip. That’s much cheaper than many other Chinese restaurants these days. I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!
The braised minced eel in brown sauce is very tasty; I really enjoy it! It has a wonderful aroma.
This classic Shanghai restaurant offers outstanding cuisine in a beautifully decorated and clean space, reminiscent of European design. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always greeting you with a smile. The food is excellent, with Shanghai-style dishes featuring a delightful sweetness that I particularly enjoy. The prices are reasonable—ranging from $10 to $20—providing generous portions that typically include rice and tea, as is common in many Chinese restaurants. I ordered a dish of fatty pork in a sweet brown sauce, accompanied by stringy mushrooms. Although I didn’t catch the name, it was incredibly delicious and presented in a striking vase. Do keep in mind that parking can be a bit challenging, so you may need to park on the street and walk a short distance.
