Tan Po Po Japanese - San Francisco

Good enough ramen, better grilled Izakaya items, and mediocre service.

Tanpopo in Buchanan Mall in Japantown offers delicious piping hot ramen that hits the spot. In addition to assorted shoyu and miso ramen, they also serve non-noodle dishes like broiled mackerel and gyoza. Guests can sit at the counter and watch Japanese TV while enjoying their meal. The only unique aspect of this restaurant is that they do not serve hot tea unless it is ordered from a can or bottle displayed on the counter. However, they will heat it up for you and serve it in a teacup. Despite this unusual practice, the satisfying ramen makes up for it. The service can be hit or miss, as some servers are more attentive than others, but in Japantown, the focus is primarily on the food rather than the service.

The sushi at this restaurant is good, with quick service and friendly staff. Although I wasn't a fan of the sushi I ordered, I realize it was probably my mistake for choosing the dill Salmon roll, which I found to be too bland for my liking.

The service and food at Flaming Dragon are excellent, with an exceptional flavor. The staff treats guests like family.

We ordered the bento box it was delicious. But the oyako don and miso soup a bit too sour. But the staff were amazing
