Kara's Cupcakes - San Francisco

The cupcakes at this restaurant are fantastic! They are light and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness, allowing the chocolate flavor to shine through. The texture is perfect, making each bite incredibly enjoyable.

I love these cupcakes; they are always my go-to whenever I am in town.

The cupcakes are really good and fresh, however, I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday and it was not fresh at all. The cake itself was dry and had too much frosting. I am really disappointed. The food was tastier and fresher at a cheaper price.

One star feels generous.facts:Called for an order of 2 dozen cupcakes on Tuesday for Sunday pick up to celebrate employee bday on Monday). Since it was Mother’s Day I Offered to come in later since they would be busy. I was told to come at 5pm.My uncle arrived Sunday at 4:45 and Juan staff) told him that he already came yesterday Saturday and the cupcakes aren’t here. He told him that it was my 70 year old uncles fault. No mention of “I am sorry there is a mistake, let’s see what we have in stock”. He was told no refund. When I asked to speak to a manger Juan told me , go online to the website. He refused to leave a message.After several emails, phone calls no response from anyone and no refund.I have since have spoken to the woman who took the order and she told me that she wrote the wrong date.I assured her, the mistake is not an issue it was the defensive and accusatory response and refusal to refund . She called a manager to try to explain snd yet no refund.Horrible customer service and the cupcakes just mediocre. Do yourself a favor and go to sweet things!

I get Kara's Cupcakes 1-4 times per month and have for multiple years now. I love their sweet chocolate, fleur de sel, and chocolate velvet cupcakes and we just tried the flourless chocolate for the first time, which was also great! I have occasionally had slightly dry cupcakes, but for the past 6+ months they've consistently been stellar. I like the flavor of Kara's cupcakes more than Susie's or any other cupcake I've had in the area.
