Il Casaro Pizzeria Mozzarella Castro

Good food, but they tack on a 5% “Casaro surcharge” when the bill shows up. Might as well call it a “price gouge fee”. Shady way to do business. Might avoid coming back because of this.

I enjoy coming here occasionally for a reliable wood fired pizza, wine and an appetizer. The meatballs are yummy, with the fungi pizza and another one that was more plain. Delicious crust on all of them and they serve calabrian chilis and chili flakes if you want them. The staff are great and the space is pretty nice, but standard open kitchen plan. I have yet to try the patio but someday I will.

Truly a recommended pizzeria. Eating in an Italian pizzeria abroad is always very dangerous. I must say that the pizza made with a wood oven in this pizzeria was certainly much better than the one eaten in many pizzerias in Italy. Truly recommended
