This cozy little spot serves generous portions of delicious food. I tried the Beef and Unagi Teriyaki combo, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much beef they gave me—plentiful and tender, just as I like it! The unagi was a sizable piece that arrived at the table sizzling, and it melted in my mouth. I recommend pairing it with rice, as there are a few bones to watch out for. I also ordered the Chicken Katsu, which featured lightly battered, crispy pieces of chicken. The portion size was just right.
This restaurant is a hidden gem that's truly exceptional. The quality of the food is astonishing, especially considering the price. The atmosphere is charming and intimate, and there's no blaring music, allowing for comfortable conversation with your dining companions. I hope it stays under the radar, as I want to keep enjoying this wonderful spot!
If you're looking for the comforting feeling of home-cooked Japanese cuisine, look no further. This is the place where you'll feel warmly welcomed and treated like family by the staff and owner. Plus, the prices are very reasonable!
The miso soup was decent, but the so-called "salad" was just chunks of iceberg lettuce with dressing sloppily applied on top. My beef teriyaki consisted of thin slices of beef (which was acceptable) but was drenched in a thick, overly sweet sauce. The tempura batter was bland, and there were far too many items in the tempura serving. Our total bill came to around $40.00 for two people, including two sodas, but even at a "bargain price," it's not worth it when both the food and service quality are lacking. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant.
